Sunday, January 8th, 1:00–4:00 PM FREE
Celebrate National Train Your Dog Month by coming out to the Paw In Hand Dog Training Train-a-Trick Open House. Watch canine freestyle and trick demonstrations. Bring your dog and get a short, free private trick training lesson. Learn about positive reinforcement training. Refreshments for dogs and people.
All dogs must be on a 4–6 ft leash (no retractable leashes please) at all times. Dogs should be people friendly and dog friendly.

Dog Day School at Paw In Hand
Beginning Monday, January 9, your dog can attend Dog Day School at Paw In Hand. Drop your dog off on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursday for a full day or half day of focused training and supervised play. Each student will have a custom training plan. I’ll work on basic or advanced skills with your dog and than transfer the information to you. Puppy Kindergarten
Rolling Admissions
For puppies from 8 to 18 weeks old
Socialization, management and training are vital for a puppy’s development and future behavior. To get your puppy on the right track, join the rolling admissions Puppy Kindergarten as soon as your puppy is old enough. Each week you and your puppy will learn new skills, practice good socialization with people and pups and have fun. I will cover important topics such as housetraining, puppy nipping, preventing food bowl guarding and chewing.
5 weeks for $100.
Tuesdays at 7:15 PM beginning January 10.

Basic Family Dog
Your dog can learn to be a well-behaved family member. Your dogs will learn basic obedience skills such as attention, sit, down, come, stay, loose leash walking, leave it. You will learn to manage your dog and apply the obedience skills to everyday situations.
For puppies and dogs over 5 months of age with no formal training.
Meets one hour each week for 6 weeks. $120
Please do not bring your dog to the first class.

Intermediate Family Dog
Develop your partnership with your dog. This class will help you and your dog strengthen basic obedience skills and to perform them around distractions. The focus will be on teambuilding, come, stay and heeling.
For graduates of Basic Family Dog or equivalent.
Meets one hour each week for 6 weeks. $120.

Advanced Family Dog
Prepares you and your dog to take the Canine Good Citizen test. It combines obedience skills with application to real life such as greeting strangers, sitting politely for petting, meeting other dogs and working around distractions. Participants will have an opportunity to take the CGC test at the end of the class.
For graduates of Intermediate Family Dog or equivalent.
Meets one hour each week for 6 weeks. $120.

Tricks and Games
Learning tricks will teach your dog new vocabulary while having fun at the same time. You and your dog will learn several new tricks each week including back up, beg, hide your face, fetch and many others. Each week we will play a training game to increase your dog’s skills.
For graduates of any Paw in Hand class.

Free Lectures
Preventing Puppy Problems
Have you just gotten a new puppy or are thinking of getting one? Then this free lecture and demonstration is for you. I’ll cover how you can use management and training to prevent your new pup from developing bad habits and help him to develop good ones. I’ll cover housetraining, puppy nipping, developing good chewing habits and preventing separation anxiety and resource guarding and answer all your puppy questions.
This is a lecture only so no dogs, please.

Three Week/One Topic Classes
Everyone has busy schedules and it is sometimes difficult to commit to a 6 week series of dog training classes. Paw in Hand will offer several three week/one topic classes through out the summer. These classes are designed for students who have had some training but want to improve their dog’s skills in a particular area in a short time.
Three Weeks to a Better Recall
A good “come” is vital for a dog’s safety. This class will help you teach your dog to come the first time, every time. We will use motivational games to teach your dog to come away from distractions and have a happy, fast recall.
For graduates of Puppy Kindergarten and above.
Meets one hour each week for 3 consecutive weeks. $60
